I am the Regional Manager for the BHS in the South West. I have owned and ridden horses for (let’s say a long time) and have ridden on the roads from the 1970’s to the present day so have experience and have seen the changes.
The riding and road safety presentation is aimed at both motorists and horse riders and aims to educate both about their responsibilities and to explain to motorists more about why they need to pass wide and slow and explain to riders how motorists perceive horse riders. The talk will cover both on road and off road riding – safety, responsibilities, etiquette etc.
The aim is that at the end of the talk we have more ‘ambassadors’ to go out and spread the message.
